Getting Started Guide
In this screen (Figure 19), choose the resolution and color depth that you want as
your default screen settings. Use XF86Setup to alter setting after installation.
FIGURE 19. Choose from available video modes in this screen.
To select a default video mode:
1.
Click on the video mode that you prefer as your default.
Only modes that are supported by your video system are shown. To show
all modes, you could click on the show all modes box.
2.
Choose a color depth from the pull-down menu.
Most people prefer to choose the highest available resolution at the high-
est available refresh rate, provided they can have enough colors.
The number of available colors may change depending on the resolution
that you select (more memory is required for higher resolution and for
more colors, so you may need to trade one for the other).
3.
Choose a virtual desktop size or no virtual desktop from the pull-
down menu.
4.
Choose Test this mode to see a 10 second test of the selected mode.
If this test doesn’t look good, choose and test another video mode.
5.
When you are satisfied with the results of the video test, choose Next
to continue.
